I'm passionate about building businesses that are strong from the inside out.
Before working and leading in boutique fitness, I spent a decade in financial services, and earned my MBA at Columbia Business School. In 2005, an unexpected turn of events brought me to the work I love most. My favorite barre studio shut down unexpectedly, and, seeing the impact of that closure on my fellow classmates, crying on the street, I decided to try and keep the community and offerings going.
I started building a fitness brand before any of the details were locked in, including a company name.
I met Tanya Becker, the best barre teacher in NYC, and she became my business partner to this day. What started with classes run out of the basement of the Martha Graham Dance Studio turned into Physique 57, a business that would go on to define the premium barre category.
With international growth and an impact across platforms, the business has grown and transformed over the last two decades. The lessons I’ve learned and continue to learn along the way are the basis for the insights I offer to my advisory clients, audiences, and readers.
I work with founders, operators, and investors across fitness, health, and wellness. From the operational to the financial and even personal, I help leaders strengthen their businesses, make progress on their goals, and feel proud of the work they’ve done. I also speak to audiences and share insights in Staying Power, my monthly newsletter.
My work has been explored in Columbia Business School case studies and McGraw Hill textbooks, and has helped people around the world feel stronger and more confident.
